Personnel

The Department of Personnel is headed by the Home Secretary, who is the Secretary Personnel. The Department is entrusted with the following functions.

Examination and advisory functions relating to framing/ amendment of Recruitment Rules for group ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, & ‘D’ employees including autonomous bodies of Chandigarh Administration.
Policy instructions regarding grant of benefits to Ex-Servicemen, taking officers/officials on deputation in U.T., Chandigarh, Grant of LTC, Compassionate appointments etc.
Tendering advices on service matters relating to employees of U.T. of Chandigarh.
Reservation policy for SC/ST/OBC in recruitment/promotions in U.T., Chandigarh.
Cases relating to Conditions of Service of U.T. employees.
Policy instructions regarding applicability of Rules (Punishment & Appeal Rules/ Conduct Rules)
