Printing & Stationery
Printing and Stationery Department is a Service Department. The printing work of the States of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and various offices of Government of India and the Union Territory of Chandigarh is being executed by the Press on Payment basis.
Stationery office deals with purchase, storage and supply of Stationery items. Supply of Stationery is done on allotment basis to Chandigarh Administration offices and payment to other offices.
Typewriter workshop undertakes procurement of Typewriters and Duplicating Machines for the offices of Union Territory of Chandigarh and carries out their servicing.
The functions of the Forms and Publication section are to get arrange printing, storage and supply of forms, registers, Departmental Standard and non standard forms, A&T Forms and Universal Forms are supplied to all the offices of the Union Territory of Chandigarh free of cost and to other offices on payment basis.
The Government Press has executed jobs worth Rs. 3,36,27,931/- for the various Government Departments during the period 1-04-2006 to 28-2-2007. Stationery Branch has supplied stationery worth Rs. 46,28,044/- to various Government Departments during the period of 01-04-2006 to 28-2-2007 against cash payment and Rs. 41,74,325/- against allotment.
Forms and Publication Branch has supplied forms and publications worth Rs. 91,34,262/- to various Government departments during the period of 01-04-2006 to 28-2-2007.
Apprenticeship scheme for printing trades is in force in the Press and total 14 Apprentices are being imparted training in this department.
Seminars on workers participation in management are being held in this Press periodically.
There was complete Industrial peace in the Department during the period under report.
